What is the fund?
The Earthquake relief fund is a commitment by IIR Exhibitions through their
holding company
Informa plc to develop a fund up to an initially capped figure of $50,000
USD. The fund is designed to support the rebuilding of hospital infrastructure
through worthy projects and initiatives in areas that require support.
The first of the projects identified for support focuses on the rebuilding of
infrastructure in Sichuan province following the terrible earthquake earlier in
2008.
www.informa.com
How does it work?
For every 3 colleagues added to the campaign and successfully mailed with the
pass on message IIR will add $1 USD to the fund value. The fund is currently
capped at $50,000 USD.
Who do I pass the message on to?
This is a pier to pier campaign and the fund is designed to appeal to healthcare
professionals across Asia to raise money and awareness of this cause through the
campaign. The money raised will be directed to worthy projects that are involved
specifically in the rebuilding of infrastructure for healthcare.
How do I know that this will really happen?
The fund will be visible on screen as the message is passed on to the 3
colleagues there will be a representation of the fund value increasing as the
message is delivered.
How will the fund be allocated?
The fund will evolve as new projects are identified or apply for funding
directly to IIR as the fund managers. The initial fund outlined for support is
the “Project for restoration of health systems for women and children in quake
hit areas, Sichuan University”
The project at Sichuan University is managed by
Director: Li Hong, Professor of Surgery, Executive Vice President, Sichuan
University
Deputy Director:
Mao Meng, Professor of Paediatrics, President, West China Second University
Hospital, Sichuan University.
www.earthquakemch.org.cn
Why not give the fund to a charity to manage?
The fund is designed to directly benefit worthy projects and it is our goal to
report back to those who joined the campaign exactly where and on what the money
was spent. By managing the fund and allocating it to worthy projects we are able
to maximize the impact of the funds value and impact.
Aren’t there management fees hidden in the fund?
No.
The fund will be managed by Informa plc and
it has a separate budget that is donated by Informa to allow the fund and its
campaign to be developed, marketed, hosted, promoted and to deliver the fund to
the projects. The development and management costs are in addition to the
$50,000 USD that Informa has pledged to the campaign and are managed separately.
The management of the fund will not at any stage interfere with the funds value
and we aim for total transparency for the funds management.
How will I know what the fund has supported?
IIR will manage the fund and its direct allocation to the chosen project or
projects. Once the project is allocated and the areas of infrastructure are
purchased this will be reported back to those who joined the campaign through a
thank you e shot and a dedicated marketing campaign.
|
|
 |
What happens
to my data?
There is an option in the campaign to opt to not receive further data from
Informa plc. All data generated by the campaign is the property of Informa plc
and will only be used for specific marketing purposes around the Life Sciences
sector and for the development of the fund and associated projects.
